WoW ads featuring Ozzy and Van Zandt
I don´t usually pay much attention to ads, and certainly don´t go around talking about them, but when two of my favorite people stars in ads for the same game I have to at least give it a mention.
For those of you that don´t know Ozzy or Steven Van Zandt, Ozzy was the lead singer of Black Sabbath and Van Zandt is a member of Springsteen´s E Street Band and played Silvio Dante in The Sopranos.
It´s good to see that all those ad money Blizzard pours into their products all over the internet and even television is put to some good use.
So without further ado, check out the ads featuring Ozzy and Van Zandt.

UK not part of Europe according to Acclaim
In a recent news-post on the official website for The Chronicles of Spellborn they announced that Acclaim, the publisher for the North American market, will be releasing the game in the following countries: North America, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and South America. Even a quick look at that list reveals that actually only one country counts as being part of the North American subcontinent.
But if you look even closer you will notice there is a country in that list that absolutely do not belong; United Kingdom. And even worse, official reports say that there will likely be a IP-block on the European and North American releases, preventing players from the UK to play with fellow Europeans even if they bought the game outside of the UK.
This has started a small outcry on the official forums with petitions and posts from angered community members from the UK and those sympathizing with them. This is an odd move from the publishers, and I know that if I were from the United Kingdom this would kill my reason to play this game. Massively Multiplayer Online Games, MMOG for short, are meant to be played in a social environment and while it is fun to make new friends you usually want to start on safe ground with someone you already know, like former guild members you have met in a different game, often from another part of the world.
